Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30th Anniversary 916

Ducati and Gerald Charles present the Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30th Anniversary 916: a jewel of haute horlogerie that pays homage to the iconic Ducati 916

Ducati continues its celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the iconic 916 with the unveiling of the Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30th Anniversary 916, the limited edition watch created in partnership with Swiss Haute Horlogerie Maison Gerald Charles. From this prestigious collaboration, 250 collector’s watches take shape, featuring the iconic Maestro case designed by Gérald Charles Genta and an in-house movement, which are combined with a series of details paying homage to the Borgo Panigale supersport legend. The Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30th Anniversary 916 is a masterpiece of haute horlogerie in line with the characteristics and values of Ducati and Gerald Charles. The Companies are united by an important stylistic heritage inherited from their historical designers: Gérald Charles Genta and Massimo Tamburini. Maestro 4.0 is inspired by the genius of the two “Masters” and celebrates design as the ultimate expression of both worlds, combining the precision and attention to detail of haute horlogerie with the dynamism and performance of motorcycling. Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO: “We are very proud of the result of this collaboration with Gerald Charles, together with whom we are presenting an extraordinary watch that pays tribute to an authentic icon like the Ducati 916. The joint work of the Style Centers began with a precise idea in mind and did not stop in the face of technical and design complexities, stimulating a continuous search for effective solutions. This approach gives additional value to a high-quality object that from the first glance returns the values that unite Ducati and Gerald Charles: passion, craftsmanship and attention to detail.”

Federico Ziviani, Gerald Charles CEO: “In keeping with our corporate promise to introduce one complication per year, we decided to relaunch the jumping hour complication, which had been missing on our watches for 13 years. The Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30th Anniversary 916 features a reference to the circle of the iconic Ducati motorcycle to display the time through its rotation, in line with Gérald Charles Genta’s affinity for unconventional complications. Inserting a skeletonized motorcycle wheel into a jumping hour disc presented several engineering challenges. It took a year and a half of R&D to succeed in paying homage to the iconic Ducati 916. This limited edition is the perfect representation of “Artistic Creativity and Technical Mastery.” Our goal is to break the rules of conventional watchmaking while keeping design harmony and mechanical performance as priorities.”

Designed to be a unique and unmistakable object, the watch features a marbled black forged carbon case with a matte black ceramic bezel, and titanium crown, case back, and buckle-a testament to Ducati and Gerald Charles’ commitment to excellence. In addition, the finish is a tribute to the asphalt of race tracks. Thanks to the special case construction, it is guaranteed to be water resistant to 10 ATM/100 mt, 5G shock resistant, and has a 50-hour power reserve.

The Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30th Anniversary 916 is the first skeletonized Gerald Charles skeleton hour watch and features a unique system that allows the time to be displayed on a disc that echoes the three-spoke shape and color of the rims of the first Ducati 916 in 1994, with black contours that enhance the color contrast. An additional touch of sophistication is the top glass, which includes a “guichet” frame adorned with red contours infused with SuperLuminova, offering a time display even in the dark. The tribute to 30 years of the legendary Ducati 916 is also evident on the glass caseback, which allows the display of the refined Gerald Charles manufacture caliber and is decorated with the celebratory laurel and the iconic motorcycle logo.

Finally, for Ducatisti who own the Panigale V4 SP2 30th Anniversary 916 Panigale who purchase this watch, there is a unique customization, with the progressive number of their bike engraved on the case back.
